Successful Two-Day Good Clinical Practice Workshop Marks Milestone at Khyber Medical University

The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at the Institute of Public Health & Social Sciences, Khyber Medical University (KMU), proudly announces the success of its comprehensive two-day Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Workshop held on January 3rd and 4th, 2024. This initiative, designed to equip participants with crucial insights into the ethical conduct and analysis of clinical trials, showcased KMU's commitment to advancing research standards.

The workshop opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Saleem, a distinguished statistician at CTU KMU, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the event. Dr. Syed Muhammad Shabbir, the Coordinator of CTU KMU, then extended a warm welcome to the participants, initiating an engaging and insightful program.

Distinguished facilitators, including Prof. Dr. Akhtar Sherin, Dr. Saima Aleem, and Syed Muhammad Shabbir, guided participants through the intricacies of Good Clinical Practice, providing a rich learning experience.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Khalid Rehman, the Director of CTU and Director of the Institute of Public Health, expressed heartfelt gratitude to both participants and facilitators. He emphasized the workshop's hands-on approach, highlighting its pivotal role in promoting ethical clinical practices.

Dr. Zia Ul Haq, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Khyber Medical University, praised the CTU for its commendable efforts in upholding Good Clinical Practice standards. Dr. Zia recommended making this training mandatory for PhD and master's students, recognizing its significance in shaping the future cadre of researchers and clinicians.
